In our game…it’s looking like there might be a stalemate on the eastern front for a turn or 2…but Japan looks like it’s going to become stronger than the US fairly soon (or already is stronger). I’d like to play it out a little longer even though you demonstrated how a 30 IPC bid could easily be mitigated. When I played a table top game with siparo, (he plays at GenCon), he said at those table top games they didn’t have the restriction of 1 unit per territory…ect (whether G40 or G42 setup). Playing against him, I just asked for a house rule agreement for his 24 IPC bid to be split up between at least 2 countries. Those 24 IPCs were enough for him to hold Germany back while his team executed a KJF.
I’m not very good at this game period…and I mostly play Axis. Not many games as the allies. But I made some newb moves, last roll in China 1 against 2 Jap infantry vs 1 Chinese infantry/fighter. Lost the fighter. China was still going to go down real quick, but that was annoying. You probably could see some of my lack of skills in doing an early landing on Norway. From my Axis perspective, any attack like that which diverts some resources away from Moscow is usually just enough to slow my momentum down (to where Moscow doesn’t fall on Round 6 or 7). But the flip side is that Japan maybe slipping away because I didn’t do the right combo.
I used to buy a bunch of bombers, similar to the amount your spending, but another player better than me said, “why are spending all that $ on bombers if your not going to strat bomb, 2 tanks have a better chance of getting a hit than 1 @4 dice plus they can help defend important positions like Bryansk.” That sunk into me. But in our game, I see the versatility in the air power purchases made as it was easier for you to have the power to easily smash the fleet at SZ112 with limited loss and get Norway back real quick. When I buy planes for Germany, I often buy 2 tacs. : 1 fighter ratio. But for attacking, it’s probably much cheaper to just buy bombers overall.

If you don’t have a limit on units per territory, stack a few more Chinese artillery in Yunnan and reinforce with Russian planes on R1. Japan can’t attack that stack on J1 and you will quickly build up a massive Chinese hoard that is a huge distraction for Japan for the rest of the game. It allows the US to spend far more money in the Atlantic.
This game is about practice. I am probably around the 35th percentile on the League play. There are people who will destroy me 95% of the matches. They play way more than me and it shows.

You got diced real bad at SZ54.
Please review that critical battle to determine if I took the hits off in the correct order. I had a near perfect 1st roll…so it was hard to tell the best order going forward whether to tip or sink more carriers vs the destroyer being a casualty right away.

In the big battle at Bryansk, every round of battle Russia never rolled good. It’s payback from Japan’s fleet damage. I was expecting to kill everything. 57% success rate…not very good, but with that many Russian units, all it takes is 1 good round of rolls and 1 bad rolls by the germans to swing it.
