2017 playoff brackets are set!!

Higher ranked players can open the bidding, or have the option to defer the opening bid to their opponent.
Most players will want to play the balanced mod.  Make sure your opponent agrees before you start bidding.  If one player refuses to play balanced mod, you will have to play the standard G40 2nd edition with him, per league rules set 1 year ago.

See the matchups on the new 2017 playoff tab of the rankings spreadsheet.  You may begin.

The 2nd bracket involves 9 players.  I decided to have 1 play-in game because the #9 player is Giallo, who was only .03 PPG behind Amon-Sul and completed 45 games during 2017.  Therefore he clearly earned a right to play for the 2nd playoff.
Amon-Sul and Giallo - since you drew a play-in game, everyone in the 2nd playoff bracket will appreciate it if you can play your game at a good pace.  Wittman can’t play his first playoff game until yours is done.  It would be great if you can manage to complete your game in one month or less, though there is no time limit.

There is a 3rd playoff of 4 players this year.

This is exciting - all of the matchups in the first round look amazing!!
Hopefully some new friendships are made, and no one has any conflicts!  I’m here if you have any questions or problems with your opponents!

7 - The 2017 Regular Season starts on 1 Jan. 2017 and ends on 31 Dec. 2017, midnight, Hawaii time.  Games must be completed by 31 Dec. 2017 in order to be counted for the 2017 season.  All game results reported between 1 Jan. 2017 and 31 Dec. 2017 will be included in the 2017 league standings.

I was just curious if each round of the playoffs is one game or a best of. I’m assuming the former but wanted to double check. And sorry if I missed this info somewhere.

yeah, my idea was that the players simultaneously start 2 games against each other, 1 as axis, 1 as allies. and if it is 1-1, then a third game with bid occurs.

but it would simply take much time.

However, AeV has 3.93 PPG and 43 games played

Because AeV’s record is somewhat similar to Giallo’s and he has completed over 40 games, and because we have 13 players to fit in 2 brackets (an 8 and a 4), I think AeV has earned the right to decide whether he wants to challenge Giallo for the 8 spot against Wittman via a play-in game OR be the #1 seed in the 3rd playoff and let Giallo have the #8 in the 2nd playoff without a fight.  There would then be a play-in game for the 4 spot in the 3rd tourney, which would make sense because it’s already 2 games to the championship instead of 3.

So Wittman and everyone in the 3rd playoff - hold on for AeV’s decision please

Gamean! We need to discuss expanding league rules to allow live f2f games and live online games to be league recordable offficialy.

Discussion is open to anyone, my thought is, a thread is Made, date of game is noted.  F2f games either have a clear conclusion and a game final photo or additional photos are posted.  A draw is considered unrecordable, or must be completed via TtipleA after.

Live online games - a thread is made before hand, end save game is attached.

Thoughts?

Yes Garg, that’s all fine and actually is already allowable under current league rules.  I’ll record just about anything if I have a player admitting defeat.

Wittman - you are playing Giallo for the 1st round and may begin any time.

Only AeV will have to wait because there is a play-in game to the 3rd bracket, between Dawgoneit and DesertAdmiral for the right to play AeV.
