sorry…
AV’s triumph:
Battle in 113 Sea Zone
British attack with 3 fighters
Germans defend with 3 fighters and 8 transports
British roll dice for 3 fighters in 113 Sea Zone, round 2 : 3/3 hits
Germans roll dice for 3 fighters and 8 transports in 113 Sea Zone, round 2 : 2/3 hits
3 fighters owned by the Germans and 2 fighters owned by the British lost in 113 Sea Zone
8 transports owned by the Germans lost in 113 Sea Zone
British win with 1 fighter remaining. Battle score for attacker is 66
Casualties for Germans: 3 fighters and 8 transports
Casualties for British: 2 fightersAnd that attack required spending all UK income on 2 carriers that would have been sitting ducks…

You can place the carriers in Quebec or S Africa.

2nd ed. I played Allies.

You can place the carriers in Quebec or S Africa.
Yes, but it doesn’t help with protecting London.

Still, 24% is imo way too high odds which should not have been offered, unless you believe your opponent is better than you.
-
But of course, if this goes wrong, the allies are in a terrible spot-.

You can look at it the other way too, if you outmatch a player, you don’t want to give th a 25% chance of turning the game.
If you are outmatched, offering 25% hail Marie’s make sense.

My thought behind my decision was simple.
Either him or me!
It was just the right mix between opportunity, luck and the guts to do it.
I was fully aware, if I, my UK Ftr’s fail, UK would have been dished with cream and Cherry on Top.
But: if only one single ftr goes through, only one, the World could be saved and a tiny smile would be on my Face.
It was a One out of hundred Buck Shots, bullseye.
That is the Way i see it.
Thank you Gentlemen for reading. :-) -

But he pulled it off….

Karl,
That’s entirely accurate, he would have been toast if that attack didn’t work. It would have been an easy walk into London with very little ground or air opposition. You basically offered an opponent that you have beaten many times a 25% chance of winning a game. He took it and got lucky, as frustrating as it can be but you can’t blame him for trying and 25% is far from a remote outcome.
I would have taken that chance if I thought my chances of winning otherwise were say 15% or less.
-
Guys, I would think that would be a game worth looking over (Adam vs. Me1945).
Not many non-playoff games between top players, but here you have one that went over 14 rounds!
Looks like they’re going to start a tie-breaker, too.
Been watching all of them, ME1945 always puts in a good show!

Yeah, no question I gave him the chance.
To be brutally honest, if you play as many games as I do, it can get a little rote so taking chances like that keeps it fresh.
Sure, I hated that AV got so lucky, but simultaneously I am proud that it happened!!!
It was awesome! If bad for me….

Definitely!
