Lets say I have a submarine placed 1 sea zone away from a coast that has enemy fighters. Can those fighters attack my submarine, if so what defensive actions can my submarine take?
1. Can fighters and Bombers attack Battleships, Destroyers and/or Transports unnassisted (without naval units)? :o
2. Where 4 (four) land/sea areas come together in one spot, can you move units diagonally across the “four corner” area? Example can you move directly from Berents sea to Karelia? Can you move directly from Western Mediteranian to Tunisia?
:-?
1 - yes (note transports cannot initiate a naval battle, they have an attack of zero)
If you guys are assuming that a round is roughly three months than almost any unit could be built in real time in that period of time. I have a book on Panzer Tanks and even the most powerful tank could field a full battalion in a little over three months. And when talking battleships, if it was a German pocket Battleship I believe it could be made in three months. You have to remember that most industries in these countries were geared almost completely to the war effort. :D :D
You know what? I found the 3rd edition rules for the A&A CD-ROM game. It answers my question. It seems only defending subs can submerge. And, if they surface to find enemy naval units, they must fight on your next turn…for at least one round of firing. So, I finally understand. Submerging is meant for defending against air attacks! Thanks anyway!
