Hi Adam,
I think I did a stupid mistake in Ita2/Ger3… I guess I was simply too excited about London battle and did not pay much attention to east front. So now looking on it, I don’t know why I stationed my units in Berlin, Yugo when I could safely stack both Romania and Slovakia with like 20 units total. I guess I overlooked your Russian main force is in Baltic, I guess I expected it to be in Eastern Poland and so thought anything left on the front would just be wiped out. Not sure what is your feeling about the game but I find it interesting here, I am curious how this combined London/Calcutta rush will play out. My idea was that if I capture these important VP early in each theater (even at steep cost) I deny Allies many new BM-specific national objectives and will put pressure on USA in both theater.
So, as I am more interested in how this strategy plays out, as opposed if I could beat the BM master in a competitive game, I would kindly propose could we assume that Euro-Axis correctly stacked Slovakia/Romania in Ita2/Ger3? I don’t really think there was any strategical advantage positioning them in Berlin/Yugo instead. By leaving the Russian front empty I pretty much awarded Russia extra 12 IPC of income in R3. So what would you think if I give Russia back 2 inf (that died in Ita3) and reduce their PU by 12? While at these changes, could I also change 8 inf purchased in G3 for 6 art instead. I really don’t know why I had a feeling Berlin is in danger and that I need to pull back and buy all inf. Of course you could adjust your R3 purchase/position (I would assume you would have those 2 extra guys in E Poland). Or do you think that those better positioned Axis units would also influence your US3,UK3 decisions and is not easy to correct? Anyway in general if you ever have a feeling that you missed something and can be changed retrospectively don’t hesitate to do so. I am want to learn from you how allied defense shall be done effectively rather than how you recover from unintentional blunders.
Frankly this is probably like my second Sea Lion game ever. As Axis in OOB+bid I’ve never thought Sea Lion is worth the risk, given that victory is relatively easily achieved on eastern front. I tried my classical OOB east-front push with Germany in my two previous BM games… and my German machinery ran out of oil before Moscow could be seriously threaten. So I thought for this game that harassing UK in T1 (possibly T2) might pay off as UK does not have any starting bid and Italy could benefit long term. BUT I was quite surprised that even though my pro-SeaLion G1 buy you actually tarantoed Italy… The AC+2TT buy was to actually prevent you from Taranto. Is there anything more Germany could have done to prevent Taranto? Germany already sacrificed a lot by putting 30 IPC into watter in G1. So I thought… well this can’t be right… me paying 30 IPC to prevent Taranto and you still going for it… then London has to fall. The thing however is that those 100 IPC invested into Sea Lion in G1/G2 and 20 land units dead in London are now missing on eastern front. Russia is even making more than Germany is. Easter Poland is a great spot for Russian stack… it threatens the whole front and as long Russia can park there it is extra 11 IPC/turn for Poland and Romania.
As for my original plan to invest in some german bombers I guess that would be utilized if Axis challenged Egypt. But since G1 attack on S France failed and you Tarantoed me, I had to change my plans. So for now… I don’t have much worries that German bombers are overpowered. Bombers are still a great unit, but seems that Germany does not really have much free cash for them.

Your fleet purchase prevented a 92 stack, Taranto only requires 1 extra fighter from UK, so the changes to Sealion odds are minimal especially if UK purchases 9 inf instead of 6 inf 1 fig on UK1.
Yeah it’s an interesting game. Sea zone 91 amphibious assaults have been disastrous enough to keep US at bay.
You can edit the Romania and Slovakia, I’d do pretty much the same Russian turn.

it was not clear to me at all how and if at all to defend Gibraltar in Turn3. US has such a good shot on it, first I thought I would leave it empty… then I left 2 Italians there… was even pondering to put more planes… then when Sea Lion went average, I thought I can invest 1 German fighter there… and it payed off much better than expected

hi… as per Ita3, I decided to change my buy so then it made more sense to actually re-roll all Ita3 battles, as I did not want it to look that I am optimizing the purchase based on the combat results. But both Gibraltar and SZ91 went better for me than with the original rolls. Just edit that extra surviving sub and inf away if you prefer.
