NHL Regular Season 2016-17
-
Go Habs, beat the Rags!! Exciting Game 2 …
-
Meh, the series was going 6-7 games anyway.
Just waiting for the new Icelanders team president to give Garth Snow a ten-year extension. :-D
-
So, is Zach Kassian the Oilers’ version of Claude Lemieux?
It’s sure looking that way after just three games.
-
:x axis roll not looking good ! “Kaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnneeeeeeeee come back” !!!
-
Habs are looking better now, Rangers in tough but only down 1 game… was it destiny that the Habs score with 17 sec left in game two and avoid going to NY down 2 games? we shall see.
-
Too early to call it destiny for a long playoff run but it’s clearly the turning point of the series. I’d give the Rangers a decent chance to win Game 5 in Montreal but that’s it.
The entire town and media have turned on the Rangers, but they’ve been here before, specifically three years ago when they were down 3-1 to the Pens.
-
Way too early to tell what’s going to happen. Kassian had flashes of play like that his whole time in Vancouver but he could never keep it going like that consistently. That’s why the Canucks gave up on him. Unless he’s truly turned over a new leaf he won’t keep that up for 2 months. He sure was impressive the last 2 games though. The whole playoff picture will be much clearer in 3 weeks.

He’s simply known in Montreal as “The Mistake”.

Series tied 2-2, good game 4 played by both teams… it’s gonna be a war for sure.
-
I get the sense that the Sharks are now angry enough to smack down the Oilers in the next couple games.
-
I’m confident the winner of Rangers-Habs will make the conference finals since they’ll enjoy a big goaltending edge against the Sens or Bruins.

Agreed.
-
I bet heavy on Boston. Marchand needs to start scoring. Tonight.
-
I leaned on MIN, CHI, WAS, and MON for the pool… I think I’m done already.
-
I was big on Chicago and Washington too, while the Hawks are finished I think the Caps will figure this round out, at least. As chaotic as the NHL playoffs are having the two top seeds get bounced in the first round would be nuts.
-
My bracket is about busted too. Picked MIN, CHI, WSH, BOS, SJS, MTL, CBJ, and CGY. :D

-
I remember thinking the same thing last year after coming out of the first round… crap I am finished. Obviously that turned out not to be the case in the end. Partially because I was only one of about two people to pick a decent number of Sharks. Just depends how things shake out. Building a lot of points in the first two rounds is key, but if your team loses most of its guys and can’t keep distance with a few good producers, you can still lose.
I am kicking myself for not going with my gut and picking more Nashville guys. I have 4 but I almost took Rinne and Johansen too.
It’s only the first round still, but I am never picking Evgeny Kuznetsov again. Guy has been a total flop in the playoffs.

Sad end to a very good season. Just goes to show you how hard the NHL playoffs are.
