Yup. I’m working on it.
Short term, the next time this happens it should only last for 5-10 minutes; as opposed to 1 hour.
Long term, I make the problem go away.

Yeah I was unable to get onto the site for a while a few days ago as well

Looks like some script kiddie uploaded a script to this box to try a DOS for either this site or another site. It basically hosed the connection until I found out about it today. There will probably be an outage tonight while I upgrade stuff.

it seems a lot faster now though. or maybe its just that my computer quarintened some virus today. don’t know which but its really fast.

When I click to read “New” messages in a thread it doesn’t work. It always brings me to the first message in the thread.

Neve rmind. I know the problem. The old forum theme is based on the old default theme which no longer works. It will be a few days before I can take the time to work on this.

I do like how you can edit things now right from the thread.
Like so -
Last night I made some changes to the server.
One change might have made things faster. The other change used up a little extra memory (about 1%) so it might have made things slower. Has anybody noticed a difference today?
This is a question especially for switch since he’s on all the time. :wink:

Things are still pretty much the same access speed.
Surfing is still substantially slower though by not being able to mark an entire thread as read.
