Okay, so somehow your 3 marines that should have been retreated on the transports are still sitting in Luzon. I don’t know why they wouldn’t go back on the boats so I will attempt to edit this.

Can’t help but wonder why you’d let the tank die in Inner Mongolia?
Very good question! Because primarily defense in on my mind (for China) in the first few rounds, I killed a tank. That was because of the terrain:
Tank in mountains: 6/4 + (-3/-2) = 3/2 attack/defense
Infantry is 2/3 + (-1/+1) = 1/4, worse attack, better defense than tank
Alpine Infantry is 2/3 + (+1/+2) = 3/5, same attack and much better defense than tank.
The thing I lose up front is a better attack against flat terrain moving north, but I have a feeling that won’t be possible for a while…. :-D
Hmm, interesting, I’d say the added flexibility of 1 more movement and the attack might work out, as I won’t kill that army next turn it seems, but I understand the reasoning…
Okay, a few more notes:
Regular fighters do NOT land on carriers. I guess I didn’t realize that they wouldn’t. Only naval planes can land on carriers. This certainly changes some things!
I tried to purchase the materials and an engineer, and then also purchase a research center to see if I could place it after. I could not. So, the materials purchases have to be on a prior turn from the factory/center purchase. This is good and makes sense. I would think the same would apply for a “hull” purchased – it will take one more turn to make a carrier/BB, but have not yet tested that.
Subs can still dive even with a destroyer present. Therefore, I added back your sub to SZ41. Now, if there is an advanced destroyer present, then this stops submerging. That’s why your subs in SZ6 were not given the ability to submerge. There is also a tech “Improved Destroyers” that stops the ability to submerge and first strikes if even a regular destroyer is present.
