If you retake paris Germany would get another 19 ipcs, right?
The IPC bonus is only for the first time you capture a capitol.
There is never a bonus for capital captures except for the Russian NO regarding Berlin. Jeff28 is right, if France somehow recaptures Paris F1, then they will collect income at the end of their turn which will just be harvested again by Germany on G2. It may feel like you’re getting some kind of bonus for sacking Paris, but you’re just collecting their starting income that they never get a chance to spend.
Not true. There is a German NO (bonus) for controlling Moscow, 5 IPC’s.
You misread my comment. I was replying to a person who seemed to claim that you get a bonus the first time you capture an enemy capital. That has nothing to do with the NOs for holding a territory.
I don’t know about you guys, but I find that weaker players SUFFER more in dice games, as low luck is more calculatable.
Especially when you consider that units you lose this turn, you won’t be able to use for the next 4, 5 ,6, etc turns.
It’s also easier to scare people with dice potentials, when they don’t know what they can count on in a dice game.
A great player won’t loose to a decent player in Low Luck ever. In dice the decent player can “get lucky” against the better player. Dice makes worse players have a better chance to win.
I don’t know that Germany would be in much of a position to push you back with too much beyond planes.
As an Allied player, I would be happy to get pushed off again in the first or second attempt if it meant the German air force was being reduced.
The Mexican Naval Base still has some value no matter what Japan does. Because if they see it and decide not to attack in order to screw your plan, this only helps India and ANZAC prepare.
I believe about turn 7. Do keep in mind that of the 5 playing, I think only 2 of us have played A&A before and was years ago. So you cant follow too many textbook “should haves” as far as this goes. :-D
That assumes the UK doesn’t badly need them for other schemes, and if they are present and intercept, who is to say that Germany won’t provide escorts? It’s a good way to potentially whittle away the Fighter defense of Moscow before the last battle. I also don’t know if the 70+ units for Russia is accounting for the output of every single Russian factory, if it is, then the UK can’t possibly guard all of these places.
it says “and/or” and it is the most common way to phrase such a requirements in games.
for basic gramar;
a, b and c = a and b and c;
a,b or c = a or b or c;
a and/or b = means if you have a and b, its ok, if you have a, its ok, if you have b, its ok.
same way you can make a list.
This exact question has been addressed on the FAQ (earlier thread), so I know the correct answer with certainty.
The Axis have to control 8 cities or more (or 6 for Pacific) CONTINUOUSLY for an entire round of play.
Say Italy takes over London for the Axis 8th city on I10. The Axis will win on I11 if the Allies never take (or re-take) a European victory city at any time between I10 and I11. If at any time between I10 and I11 the Axis lose a city and dip below 8, the clock has to start all over again at such time as the Axis re-claim an 8th city. If the Axis get 9 or more cities, they can lose a city and still win on I11, as long as they never dip below 8 at any time.
Along with the damage if it was never bought off before it can be upgraded. It could be a 26 IPC expense for the original owner to upgrade it back to the major.
The ammount of material Russia would need to send to take Turkey would be enough that Germany could just walk right on to moscow… That extra 2 dollars russia now has will be going in Germanys bank.
I was leaning toward a J2 attack, however, once I calculated that it was impossible to claim the $5 NO for the Islands at the end of turn 2, I choose to stick with the J1 attack.
You can Bombard if you ignore the Trprt and or Sub. If you bring Air in to attack the Trprt, it creates a Naval Battle. You can’t bombard during a Naval Battle.
