Anyways what i see is more battles in africa (i am hoping to look forward to pacific battles which i love!)

I play this game called b.net and this guy made a a&a europe and a&a pacific on it and it is pro but he wanted to make the full map but not enough space!

This game is very similiar except not turn basis and (fighters like the spitfire lancester hurricane you can buy seperate planes and tanks like germany panzer 3 panzer 4 king tiger (like germany has 20 different tanks)

These games rule except a&a pacific leans towards the allies!

Don’t get me wrong, I like to KJF, it’s more fun, since it IS harder to execute.  I like a challenge.  Probably why I like to play the Axis… they’re the underdog.

So KJF is an underdog type of allied strategy.   :wink:

KJF is harder of master, not of execute. When you master KJF, it’s more powerful than a mastered KGF. First, because very few people know how counter KJF and many start to do strange things. Second, because it’s easier for axis reach economic parity in KGF than in KGF. Third, for league games, I found it’s easier reach 9 VCs with KJF (Manila, Shangai, Paris). Fourth, a KGF strat let Japan try invade american mainland (a strat I still don’t master, but seems very nasty in a initial KGF game)

If SUBs were actually viable, France would be automatic for IC placement.

With SUBs not doing any economic damage, and basically automatically killed by any attack force with a DD then maybe it’s a little less of a sure thing

If Germany is cashing out at 45-50IPCs though early on, and facing a KGF (which they most likely will be), then yeah, France is good for producing your 15-16INF/TURN while you wait for Japan to take out Moscow… yawn  :roll:

I disagree. The reason of subs not being viable for Germany is not that they cannot do economic damage. It’s because allied fleet can simply toast them by pure numbers. It’s a trouble with having a so small Atlantic ocean, ther is no place where subs can hide from fleets.

Convoy raiding subs can be protected by other surface vessels.  Being able to do convoy raids would still make these ‘protected’ subs useful:  They would be soaking UK for cash.

This would make naval investment by Germany more viable as their return on their investment is higher than throwing subs out there to be killed.

Now you only can build a german sub in baltic or in English Channel/Marsella if they buy a Vichy IC. Both places can be toasted still by pure numbers. Too much german fleet means super-soviets.

A Italiansub merrily stacked with a Italian fleet near Italy should not be able of killing any UK convoys (unless Malta, but Malta is not on AA50). A sub auto-killing allied IPCs, even if the sub is far of any convoy rutes (as in german NA from AAR), is pretty unrealist. The only realist rule would be convoy routes, but there is few chance of germans reaching there, not talk about holding them

With bombers reduced to 12 IPCs I think we will find that they rule the waves. Also with what experimentation I have done based on the now know to be incorrect '41 set up the Baltic fleet goes down much more quickly and painlessly for the Allies.

I agree with your rational, but I do feel that Paratroopers belong in the game.  I don’t know the solution though.  Perhaps they could only be used in attacks where at least 1 other unit is also attacking the same territory by land or by sea.  (I would make an exception for islands and perhaps undefended territories.)

I had a thought about Heavy Bombers, since so mant people seem to think that the tech is broken.

Why not let them be a 5 on Attack, a 2 on Defense, and their SBRs be an automatic “5”.

Never defense at 2 bombers were never meant for defensive purposes and thats why the the bomber gos 6 (that way you can hide behind a line annd still attack with the fighter(s)who are hiding behind another line!

While I think the SUBs are much improved over Revised OOTB, I feel they are still to vulnerable and not very cost effective.

Do you know if Sub Detection rules or Convoy Raid type rules were ever considered, either during the development or playtesting phase.  I suppose they may have been considered too complex by either WOTC or Mr. Harris, but I do feel this is the one thing that the game is really missing.

I would not think that italy should change sides. But it would be fun if italy could be it own side, and try to take over the world independant of germany and japan. long shot, but a true gammer could try.

Start with playing with both. If you never play with tech you won’t know what it does to the game and I don’t believe you have a right to give an opinion on tech.

However when you played a few games and don’t like it, then throw tech away. NO’s are must IMHO since the axis won’t stand a chance without them.  :wink:

The bonuses countering each other stuff only works if germans cannot retake Kar, but if the target is not letting germans build at kar, I agree.

Anyways choosing for bombardment or killing a transport i would choose bumbardment if the transport is basically useless were it stands

I found that sending men in the baltic sea in AAE was a faster way to send troops out to the front which it did also i some how took leningrad on 1st turn and he was pissed because men in russia and belorussia had a choice and they had to retreat and keep a few men there. So making a bit of a navy for germany can be profitable if the russian rolls are “5’s”
