If Germany is doing fine during the first rnds and builds IC in France, and if the Italian navy is not killed before rnd3-4, I can see Germany dropping naval units in the south if the fleet can survive, but a heavy German naval strat is doomed to fail against decent allied players, b/c Russia will be too strong.

That is why I think if you want to advocate something crazy like a Kill UK first, Italy is the country you really have to look at.  Germany has to attempt to sink all the UK navy and probably do a T1 naval build big enough to distract the UK from Italy (subs or a carrier most likley) after that is has to make sure to build 1 air unit a turn to send to the West (hopefully bombers to keep SBRing UK/ keeping US transports at bay), while Japan has to go HEAVY towards the WUSA and if it can spare it India and Australia, to try and keep US out of Africa and hopefully hit some UK IPC’s, also you may have to get that Japanese Carrier to the Med as fast as possible.  Italy then would have to pray it can win enough to secure Africa and build a fleet in time to seriously threaten the UK, probably take Brazil in the process too.  You have to do this and hope somehow someway Germany can still stave off Russia and Japan can make some mainland in roads.  I don’t think it’s a good strat, but it is the best I can think of.

And if you think that is too much of a long shot, the only other thing I can think of is to once again have the Japs threaten the US as much as they can while still hopefully having enough to gain ground in asia.  But instead try to hit with Germany. You still shouldn’t start off with Navel builds.  The Germans have to build air at 1st I think to try and clear the Brits.  Then if you can pull off a double hit with Italy/Germany on the UK.  I think this is a bit more far fetched to an already far fetched strat, but still if you want to try something crazy…

Honestly kill UK first is just way too difficult.  A kill America 1st strat would even be easier I think.  Now if you want to do a cripple UK strat and make them irrelevant, that is much much more feasible.

Yes, it allows for non combat moves during CM. For fighters and carriers move it seems necessary, because when you move a fighter TripleA allows the move only if there is a valid land spot. Sometime it is needed to move the AC during CM to “show that there is a valid land spot”. So TripleA allows to non combat move the AC during CM. After moving the fighters you may, in case, cancel the move of the AC and then move it during NCM to allows fighters landing.

now now, lets not make fun of virgins.  i’m playing joe cold, i think i’m doing alright, but its just about to be rnd 3, and this is where the allies usually get it together.  we’ll see.

13 VCs is practically the same as 15 and 18 VCs. I don’t think that any side can recover if the other side holds 13 VCs. So 13 VCs is total domination, but with 13 VCs it helps for new players who can’t see when a game is lost.

For me, is always concession, and usually before 13 VCs are taken. So even with 13 VCs, the VC system have no meaning outside helping new players see the end. It’s not unusal in some of my games, that when I or my opponents concede, we don’t feel the victory is safe yet, but the other player thinks he can’t win, and thats the way it should be.

Well, we resumed the game Sunday and went another 8 hours on it. Now the U.S has tech Chart 2 , 1-2-3 & 6, the Brits have jets & radar, the Russians have chart 1, 1 & 6,& s subs, the Ger have chart 1, 1-3-4-5-6, the Japs chart 2, 1-2-3.  The Germans have fought off every force that was thrown at it by all 3 allies and is building up and the Japs are closing in on Russia but the U.S.S.R still has a huge force of tanks and Italy has been invaded over and over by the U.S. and the Brits have taken back most of Africa, now the U.S. is trying to build a Pacific navy again, if this goes on for too much longer we may have to consider a draw. But I think this could be the most awesome game I ever played, by the way it’s the 41’ version.

Approximately half of the U-Boat losses were due to Aircraft.

However in this version of Axis and Allies subs may not be hit by aircraft without an attacking destroyer present. Axis and Allies is not a very accurate recreation of WWII. However, it is a fun game.

Maybe I may do an error, because I do not play by forum but I have read as the forum dice roller works. The number after the @ indicates the attack value of the dice. Hypothetically the hit value should not influence the result of the “dice rolled”, which is always a d6. The problem is that rolling a d6 with an attack value of 13 it is impossible to have a hit confirmation from the dice roller. It is still possible to asses the hits with “human intervention”.

In such situation, the, the 2@13 are two d6 rolled for the two infantry and should be considered ok. If one of them score a a 1, it should be a hit. So the only thing to do is to roll for the 3@3, for having the fighters outcome.

As I said, however, I am not an expert of forum dice rolling, so a more qualified opinion is needed!  :-D

Just as other ships may, submarines may also move out of a sea zone where they begin their turn with enemy ships, even destroyers.  The destroyer doesn’t stop the sub’s movement, as the sub didn’t enter the sea zone - it started off there.

Hi I have another question if you dont mind…

I invaded iwo jima with a battleship, transport w/ 1 inf and 2 planes.

I’ts my understanding that I should get an offshore bombardment with the battleship prior to the invasion of the inf and planes.

But Triple A didnt roll the bombardment… is this a bug?

He can build 1 IC and 1 INF. The damage markers only indicate the limited production of a damaged IC.
A newly built IC is considered to be build in a new territory, with the resources and manpower available of the country it is in.

On ABattleMap think of the top row as Chart #1 and the bottom roll as Chart #2.

There are 4 different optional rules, and except for tech, these rules will influence the game balance, although I’m not 100% sure if SBR interceptors will influence balance, but the Dardanelles closing and NOs will influence the game balance.
For the different settings that will influence balance most, I think most players either play with NOs, or w/o NOs.

Imo, there is consensus that w/o any optional rules, allies are favored in both 41 and 42.
If using NOs, there is no consensus yet, except if using LL, axis are favored in 41.

free 1d6 dmg to each IC in range is pretty good if you ask me. japan and usa need to do some shuffling if they get this, but everyone else gets to start shooting right away
