Bid is something down to even out an inbalance in the game. Generally the Axis is considered to be the disadvantaged party. So both sides “bid” to be Germany. Player A “bids” 3 infantry and Player B “bids” four infantry. The player who bids less units or IPCS plays the axis team.
Low luck means that if you have six infantry attacking at one, you get exactly one hit, or three artilleries attacking at two get one hit. Now if you have four infantry and one artillery attacking then you have three shots at one, and two shots at two. Add these all up to get 7. So you get one automatic hit (because you have six) and then you roll the die for that extra one. 7-6 = 1. So you roll one dice at one. So basically whatever all your attack hits add up to divided by six is how many hits you get, the remainder is rolled (so if you had two fours and one two then you would have a total of ten so you get one automatic hit and roll one die at four.
Sounds like a plan, i’m heading off to bed as I have a long trip ahead tomorrow (7+ hrs on the road) but I’ll be back on tomorrow night.
I’ll have to see what you purchase and where and what your attacking with, probably most likely no scramble on my part, I doubt you will be spreading your air force to thin on multiple attack fronts on round 1.
Generally people use the latest version of Sgt. Wonko’s module, which is just an online map.
It’s set up for Alpha +2, and basically does everything for you. A lot of good work got put into it, it’s very nice.
People do their moves, then upload the map to their threads, where the other players download it. The process just repeats from there.
The module is pretty well explained right here: http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=22837.0
Go here, this is our thread, at the bottom is a file to download which is my German combat move. Pretty much decide if you want to scramble then I will roll die here in the forum then make all the neccessary adjustment after combat, then do combat moves and repost with a new map. You then take that map and save as 1bR, and then take Russias go.
What do I do with your attached file after I have downloaded it (it won’t allow me to open it) any way, I will scrabble 2XUK ftr and 1XFR ftr. into Sz 110.
Just think of convoys as SBR rules, if you have warships in a convoy zone you can subtract money from an enemy territory or territories adjacent to the convoy sea zone, (up to the total value of the territory or territories, and the attack happens at the end of the victims turn).
If you play Japan, thats all the motivation you need to learn the kamikaze rules. in a nut shell, you get 6 free submarines that get 1 surprise strike each on any enemy ships you want (except subs and transports, 1 round only).
There are some small details I didn’t mention but I hope that helps a little…
Thanks, I am starting a game with Cereal today and I think I can only handle one game at a time, being a newbie and all. Maybe after I get done with this one if you are interested?
prefer sending files back and forth. started thread if you want to do germany. really liberal with edits-moving pieces forgotten etc. like the idea of making decisions for your opponent such as scramble, submerge, intercept, casualties etc. to move game along. I hate sitting down to play and after a few minutes have to wait for scramble decision. you can just play in local mode if you like. I dont get dice rolls because of gmail account. borysowiczmike@gmail.com if you want to set up so you get my dice rolls.
